FROM THE HEART OF THE RHÔNE VALLEY

No matter what occasion you are celebrating, Domaines & Châteaux de Sade has the right wine for you. From full-bodied reds from the South of Rhône Valley, to light & refreshing whites, we’ve been offering a wide range that will suit every taste!
We have created a tailor-made elegant wine range from the Rhône Valley, part coming from our own vineyards, and part from some wine-growers integrated-partners that we have selected and contracted for their ancestral know-how, quality and reliability.
A refine selection from the Rhône Valley, from the septentrionale (Northern) part like Crozes-Hermitage, to the most South area in Luberon. All those wines are produced under our oenologist anf family supervision.

CÔTES DU RHÔNE WHITE

Blend of grenache blanc, marsanne and roussanne which are some of the most popular white grape varieties in the South of Rhône Valley. Easy drinking, refreshing, with a good acidity. Perfect with sea-food, fish or wite meat.

CÔTES DU RHÔNE RED

GSM (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre) typical blend of our region, the South Rhône Valley. Fruity with nice aromas of plum and blackberries, followed by some undergrowth and mushroom aromas. Perfect with red meat.

CÔTES DU RHÔNE WHITE

Blend of grenache and syrah, this rosé is fruity and floral, with some acacia, honey, and yellow fruit smell, followed by floral aromas (iris), acacia, citrus and white fruits (peach). Match well with fish and white meat, or for appetizer during summer time. To consume fresh at 8-12 degrees celcius.

VENTOUX RED

Coming from higher altitude vineyards, this blend of grenache, syrah and mourvedre has some black fruit and spice scent, followed by some mushrooms aromas. Balanced and silky wine, with a nice long-lasting taste, good with meat and cheese.

LUBERON RED

Hotter climate than Ventoux, vineyards located in the South of Rhône valley around Lacoste and Bonnieux, this wine is a blend of syrah, grenache and mourvedre. Black fruit, blackcurrant, blackberry, with a very fruity, silky and elegant finish. Good with game, cheese and red meat.

LUBERON OAK BARREL

This special cuvée is made every vintage with the best grape from our oldest vineyards of grenache noir in Luberon on the villages of Oppède. Aged 15 months in French oak barrels, demi-muits of 500 liters, with only 10% new oak every year, this wine is full bodied and can be kept in your cellar for years.

VACQUEYRAS RED

Protected by the Dentelles de Montmirail overlooking the village and vineyards, this wine benefits from diverse soils that bring great aromatic richness.
Mainly made from Grenache with Syrah and Mourvèdre, it reveals aromas of ripe black cherry and fig with hints of candied fruit, spices, leather and light smoky notes. Powerful and structured, it offers an elegant, long finish with freshness and finesse.
Since 1998, Vacqueyras has been the official wine of the Festival d’Avignon (festival created by Sade himself with his numerous plays).

GIGONDAS RED

The origin of the name Gigondas is debated. It may come from gignit undas (“born from the waters”), referring to the mountain’s underground water sources, or from the Latin jucunda (“joyful”), inspired by the pleasures of the place — hunting, landscape, or perhaps the wine itself.
Gigondas became the first Côtes du Rhône village to achieve Cru status in 1971.
Our wine reveals aromas of ripe red and black fruits. Full-bodied on the palate, it offers a rich and fleshy texture with fruity and spicy notes. Blend: 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre.

CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE RED

When the Popes settled in Avignon in the 14th century, they revealed the exceptional terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, whose wines soon became known as the “Pope’s wine” and gained prestige across European courts. One of the Popes also offered the Château of Saumane to the Sade family as a reward for their services. Châteauneuf-du-Pape became the first controlled appellation in France in 1936. Our red wine, made from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault, is aged for 18 months in large French oak barrels (foudres). It is powerful yet silky and elegant, with subtle tannins and a long, refined finish.

SAINT-JOSEPH RED

This wine from the North of the Rhône Valley comes from steep vineyards maintained by hand, and is made of syrah aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, using around 30% of new oak every year. It develops some black currant and blackberry aromas, with expressive black pepper and slight truffle smell with some spicy notes of white and Sichuan pepper.

CROZES-HERMITAGE RED

Amazing expression of the syrah from the North of Rhône Valley, this Crozes-Hermitage is aged in French oak barrel for 12 months. The wine is powerful and develops some aromas of black pepper and black-currant, spice and Sichuan pepper. This is a very elegant wne with long-lasting finish, an amazing expression of syrah.

CÔTES DU RHÔNE VILLAGES

This Côtes du Rhône Villages 2020 is a limited edition of 9.000 bottles, that comes from the village of Rochegude. The wine is absolutely unique, with low yield and strict selection of the best grape, doing a late harvest to have more concentration of sugar and flavour. After the traditional vinification, the wine has been aged in special oak barrels for a tailor-made finish, barrels that previously contained Sauternes for 1 year, then Single Malt for 3 years. The ageing of this red wine lasted during 9 months to provide to this wine a special character, between tradition and modernity, trying to escape from the "déjà-vu" and innovate for new taste and sensations.
